Man Tried To Get Kids In His Car At Shrewsbury Bus Stop; Police Investigating

Students waiting at a bus stop in Worcester County were smart enough not to fall for a man's trick to get them in his car, but police are asking for the public's help to find him before he tries it again.

The man approached several kids in the Shrewsbury Commons Wednesday morning, March 15, and said their parents had called an Uber to take them to school, the Shrewsbury Police Department said. None of the children got in the car, and the man drove away moments later. They reported the incident to a school resource officer later that day.

The kids described the suspect as a Hispanic man in his late 30s to early 40s who was driving a black sedan.

Officials ask anyone with any information about this incident to contact Shrewsbury Police Officer Shawn Valliere at 508-841-8435.

Police stressed in a Facebook post that anyone who sees anything suspicious should contact 911 and attempt to get the car's license plate if they can do so safely.
